Provence Lavender (Lavandula x intermedia 'Provence') Also known as "Blue Lavandin", Provence is a small to medium sized upright growing shrub growing to 3 to 4 feet tall by 3 to 5 feet wide. The new growth green ages to grey and produces sweetly fragrant, lavender-blue flowers. The 18 to 24 inch spikes flower from summer into fall.
This lavender is beautiful in the landscape and its flowers are useful for fresh sachets, dried potpourri and for culinary use. However, it is not considered to be the best variety for oil production.
