Lavender 'Folgate' (Lavendula augustifolia 'Folgate')
Perennial, hardy in zones 5-9
A neat and compact lavender variety with a slightly spreading habit and beautiful dark violet, mildly scented flowers. Well suited for gardens and borders as well as cutting and drying. Originating at Folgate Nursery in England in 1924, Folgate was named the 2012 “Award of Garden Merit” winner for the Royal Horticultural Society.
Planting: Plant Folgate Lavender in full sun and in well drained alkaline sandy soil. Raised beds and rock gardens are ideal to prevent root rot if conditions are too wet.
Pruning: After the second year of growth, begin pruning once or twice a year, cutting back a third of the foliageto maintain the plant's shape, leaf and flower production, and to prevent woodiness.

Please note that plants are seasonal items. We begin shipping plants, with the exception of onion transplants, in mid-March. Plant shipping is paused during the heat of the summer, then resumed in early September through late November.
NOTE: Not all plants listed on our website are available for shipping. Non-shippable plants are marked either "LOCAL ONLY" or "Non-Shippable". Full refunds are issued for plants that are ordered, but not available within the shipping season.
If you order plants in the shipping off-season, they will automatically be back-ordered and shipped during our shipping seasons.
We use primarily USPS for shipping. If you prefer another carrier, please contact us before placing an order and we will quote the price of your order plus shipping.
