Lavender 'Folgate' (Lavendula augustifolia 'Folgate')

Perennial, hardy in zones 5-9

A neat and compact lavender variety with a slightly spreading habit and beautiful dark violet, mildly scented flowers. Well suited for gardens and borders as well as cutting and drying.
Originating at Folgate Nursery in England in 1924, Folgate was named the 2012 “Award of Garden Merit” winner for the Royal Horticultural Society.

Pruning: After the second year of growth, begin pruning once or twice a year, cutting back a third of the foliageto maintain the plant's shape, leaf and flower production, and to prevent woodiness.
Uses: Culinary, Medicinal, Aromatic, Industrial
Bloom time: Early July
Height: 12 inches
